The Library Visits Program
The Library Visits program provides library services to older adults in Genesee County who are unable to visit the library. LV is part of the ask marshall family of programs, funded by a grant from the Muriel H. Marshall Fund for the Aging.
Overseen by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, the fund is a bequest from the estate of Roxanne Marshall who named it in honor of her mother. Ms. Marshall, a former school librarian, wished to enhance the quality of life for older adults in Genesee County.
Genesee County residents at least 60 years old who are confined to their homes due to a short term or extended illness, disability, or lack of transportation may be eligible for the services of this program. Caregivers of any age are also eligible to receive this service.
Library Visits also provides rotating mixed media collections to senior housing complexes, adult daycare facilities, nursing homes, and veterans' facilities in Genesee County.
For more information or to register for services, contact the Library Visits Coordinator at (585) 343-9550 option 6 or email LibraryVisits [@] nioga.org. For more about services provided by ask marshall, visit their website!
