Adult Book Discussion

Two discussion groups meet monthly at the library (both sessions discussing the same book): on the first Monday evening at 6:30 pm, and the second Wednesday morning at 9:30 am unless otherwise noted on the event calendar.  The group reads a variety of books, including historical fiction, contemporary fiction, classics, and non-fiction.  Check our online calendar for upcoming books.

Mystery Readers' Book Discussion

This group meets quarterly -- on the fourth Monday of January, April, July, and October -- at 6:30 pm.  Books are available at the front desk one month prior to discussion.

Computer Classes

Stop in for Tech Tutoring! 

Do you need help understanding your personal electronic devices? Then join librarian Liz in the Gallery Room for Tech Tutoring! 
All device makes and models are welcome, just make sure to bring it with you.
No registration necessary, just pop-in.
Morning tech tutoring: 9:30 am - 10:30 am the second Tuesday of every month
Evening tech tutoring:  6:30 pm- 7:30 pm on the fourth Tuesday of every month


For self-help:

  • The Public Library Association's DigitalLearn.org offers short introductory classes on a wide variety of topics, such as Getting Started on a Computer, Intro to Email, Creating Resumes, Online Job Searching, Basic Microsoft Word, and more.  All classes are free.
  • Our database Testing and Education Reference Center includes tutorials on Microsoft applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.   After logging in (you may be required to enter your library card barcode), click "Basic Skills" and then "Microsoft Tutorials."  Please note that access is limited to Richmond Memorial Library cardholders.

Reference librarians are available for basic computer assistance during normal operating hours.

Nioga Board Member Openings

There are no current board openings.

Movies

Movie Screenings at RML are the second Thursday of each month at 6pm.

Throwback Thursday Classic Movie Screenings are held the third Thursday of each month at 10am in the Reading Room. 

Mystery Movie Mondays are held quarterly on the third Monday of the month (March, June, September, and December). 

Special screenings will be held occasionally, as well, and announced well in advance. 

Details about which movie will be shown will be posted close to screening dates both in the library and online. 

Music

Live Music at the Library

We regularly offer live music at the Richmond Memorial Library.  All performances are free and are usually suitable for a family audience.
