Playaway Audio Collection
The Richmond Memorial Library is pleased to include the addition of Playaways, the
newest technology in audiobooks, to our media collection. Playaway is the simplest way to
listen to an audio book on the go. Each unit comes preloaded with one book on it. No
cassettes, CDs or downloads. Simply plug in earphones (or earbuds) or a car adaptor to
Playaway’s universal jack and enjoy! A Playaway may be borrowed for a 3-week loan
period.
Each Playaway comes with 1 Lanyard and 2 AAA Batteries one in the player and one extra
in the package. Each battery lasts for approximately 12 hours.
Due to health reasons, patrons are required to provide their own earphones for use with
Playaways. If needed, new earphones may be purchased at the library’s main desk for
$1.00 and may be used in any future Playaway unit you borrow.
How it works:
- Plug your earphones into the universal headphone jack.
- Press the Playaway button to turn on the unit.
- Press the Playaway button again and enjoy!
Our Playaway collection is located in the library’s media area.
